I have 29 wonderful 5th grade students that attend public school here in Colorado. Although not at the top of the school yet (we are K-6), they sure are excited to be seen as role-models in our school.
Although my students are only 10 and 11, the desks they use are much older...and smaller. They sit at tables divided into 2 "desks" with openings in the front for them to place supplies. There is simply not enough room for them to organize and maintain all of the supplies that they need in my classroom in there. Many students keep their supplies on the floor next to their desks and both they and I are constantly tripping and stepping on these items.
