My students are in the public schools; however, this year our district has had many budget constraints, and supplies for the classroom have been cut back. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, some affluent while others come from Spanish speaking households where many are working parents. Many of my students live in low-income housing and receive free or reduced lunch. They are eager to learn but often don't have the vocabulary or prior knowledge.
