The students who I service come from various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many students come to school without coping skills or self awareness. It is very difficult to teach academic concepts to children with these barriers. I’ve started with teaching students how to take calming breaths and a few basic yoga poses.
Having yoga mats, the students will be able to broaden their yoga poses, which will lead to better focus in class and self awareness.
They will also be able to use these mats in correspondence with other calming and mindful exercises! The floor in the classroom is very slippery and could pose a safety hazard!
About my class
