My students are all in the English language learner program. My school is 94% free or reduced lunch. Many of my students do not have access to books at home. I want to provide as many different kinds of books as possible for them to be able to read within the classroom. In addition, I want to use these books to start my own library type system where students can check out books from me to take home and read. This will get the students reading at home with their parents to build a relationship and talk about books. My students love reading and learning about the world. Most of my students tend to gravitate towards nonfiction text and can't seem to get enough of it! I love this age because they love discovering the world.
