My students come from poor homes, where many parents do not work. Those that have working parents, often come home to an older sibling, and do not receive much assistance at home with educational experiences. Although we are close to the water, our families are mostly low income, and because of our school's low enrollment, we receive less funding than larger schools. We do not have a single working color printer in our school, except for a few purchased by teachers for their own personal use.
