I have the opportunity to work with an amazing group of students every day. All of my students are identified as EIP (Early Intervention Program) students, meaning they are below grade level in reading, math, or both. Reading and math are viewed as "mountain-sized tasks" for all of my students. These second graders are full of life, and truly possess a love and a passion for learning. My school is a Title 1 school, meaning the majority of our students are on free or reduced lunch. We are also a BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology) district, but because we have such a high poverty level, most of our students do not have the resources at home to bring anything in. Being an EIP teacher I do not have a classroom to call my own, so I have to get creative and find spots to teach. The rooms that I am using now have no computers in them, so my students do not have the opportunity to utilize technology at all while they are with me.
