I teach first grade and have a diverse group of students. My school is a Title 1 school and qualifies for free and reduced lunches. Many of my students do not have access to technology outside of the classroom. Many of my students do not have adequate parental involvement. This prohibits a students exposure to books. A child learns and develops their knowledge base through read-alouds.
