I have the only district-wide K-6th grade classroom for students with multiple disabilities who are considered medically fragile in East Hartford Public Schools. Their disabilities include motor, speech, vision, and cognitive ability but not spirit. It takes a little more time and effort to get to know my students since they are mostly non-verbal and have such limited use of their bodies it is difficult for them to use communication devices. But once you get to know them you will see such incredible personalities, motivation, and a love of life and learning.
