My kindergarten students go to a Title 1 public school, located in a large urban district of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The students come from low-income households and receive free lunch. They represent a diversity of cultures from places around the world such as Pakistan, Cambodia, Mexico, and Nepal. Many of them do not speak English as a first language and have never attended school. Like all five-year-old children, they are sweet, energetic, and very excited to be in kindergarten.
