I am a second grade teacher in an elementary school with a student body that consists of almost 50% economically disadvantaged children. We have a diverse population, and our children come from many different types of family environments. In our building, we work hard to meet the needs of all the children coming from a variety of backgrounds, in order for them to achieve academic, emotional, and social growth in an educational environment that is very demanding.
