I teach at a magnet school in the School District of Philadelphia. I work with middle school students to improve their study skills whether it be for special education or esol purposes or for students who need a smaller setting and additional help. My main population in this class are students with autism spectrum disorder. I also teach a creative arts elective. We will be working through project based learning activities to incorporate art into our curriculum. We are a new middle school that has opened our doors to fifth grade this year. By year 4 we will have fifth thru eighth graders attending Beeber Middle School.
I teach at a Title 1 school for the School District of Philadelphia. The teachers at this school are definitely a part of the "village" that raises these students. We go above and beyond just teaching them the common core curriculum. This is our future.
