I teach two groups of twenty-seven 5th grade students in a high-needs urban public school in Pennsylvania. 60% of my students are English Language Learners. Many of them are struggling to read at grade level. My classroom is extremely diverse including students from Cambodia, China, Vietnam, Puerto Rico and Liberia. My students are warm, hard working, and excited to learn new things.
