Since the inception of the Green Team, their main goal has been to implement a school-wide recycling program. After many meetings with administrators, board members, and facility directors, our school has been slow to embrace recycling. Well, the club members decided to take the initiative and set up a paper recycling program at the high school of their own. The students have reused copy paper boxes, painted them green, and have made them available in copy rooms, the library, classrooms, and offices. Every two weeks, the students volunteer their time during study halls, lunches, and after school to empty all the boxes and transport the paper to the recycling dumpster. Therein lies the problem, the weight of the paper causes a lot of boxes to break and the green paint rubs off on their clothing. We can always get more and paint more but it would be nice to have something durable and reusable. That is why the students are requesting some storage bins.
