I am the Project SEARCH Instructor through the Thomas County School System. Project SEARCH is a high school transition program which teachers students with disability employable job skills through a 1 year internship experience. The goal of Project Search is employment for students with disabilities. My students this have Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Specific Learning Disabilities. We are a Title 1 school, in an economically disadvantaged area of south Georgia and 100% of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch each day. My students have completed their high school credits and have chosen to remain in school in order to participate in Project SEARCH. We are fortunate to be able to learn employable job skills at our local hospital, Archbold Memorial Hospital. My students are excited to learn job skills at the Hospital that will hopefully lead to a full time job in the future.
