So many children today do not Independently engage in learning. Bright, highly cognitive children do no easily tune into lessons. These children need extra stimulus to help them engage. An inflatable air cushion encourages a child to move their body in an appropriate way. With instruction, children learn that they can wiggle and softly bounce as their bodies crave, AND actively listen.
Physical movement encourages cognitive processes. All children will benefit from physical movement but several stand out. I have several children who consistently lay their head and bodies across the desks. Their body language says I'm tired, board, don't care. A child with an air cushion is more likely to be using his/her back muscles. Because their bodies are engaged, it is more likely their brains are as well.
