My classroom is a fully inclusive classroom including special education students and students with a wide variety of learning needs. I have 24 students that come from multicultural backgrounds. We are a rural, farming community, and have a low- socioeconomic base. With most families getting free or reduced lunches, they also waive school supplies. Student's come to school without essential supplies let alone have access to what has now become 'everyday technology.' The technology that is available today to help young students with reading, writing, and math is amazing. Unfortunately, my students do not have access to a computer in our classroom much less an iPad. The use of an iPad will allow learning to be more interactive, fun, and engaging.
