Every teacher thinks that her students are amazing, but my students are truly amazing. They come from families that fall below the poverty line, but my students constantly rise above the factors that are meant to restrain them. They have very little at home, and school becomes an escape for many of my students. My students are always excited to walk into my classroom door in the mornings. Our school is in a rural location and the majority of the students here are Hispanic. Learning and speaking English is a main priority for our students. In my classroom, everything we do we do together. We learn together through class discussions and small groups. We celebrate our achievements together, and we support each other during our lowest points. Most importantly, we never let our differences (language differences, etc.) separate us.
