Twenty-six third graders fill the seats of our room every day. Many live in poverty, some live with one parent, a hand-full are Mexican, a few are Pacific Islander and two are homeless. Our high-poverty Title One school is characterized by a diverse student body. Our school-wide goal includes closing the achievement gap in literacy. A group of dedicated teachers and staff are always pouring our heart and souls into educating our next generation. Working together, our students' learning has become an obsession. We all set high standards and don't accept failure.
