Our school is one of the largest school districts in the county, but it includes many small, low income areas. The students in my classroom come from different economic backgrounds, but most of them are from low economic families. Some of my students live with a single parent, while others live with grandparents. School is not necessarily at the top of the list for some of these students. Additionally, my students have various learning levels, styles and interests. I have duck hunters, cheerleaders, softball players, and football players. They are typical little kids who want to be loved and accepted.
