Physical fitness not only benefits the overall condition of our body's health, but it also helps us to keep our brains sharp and ready for learning. Our school is on a mission for all students to have the opportunity to become fit and be ready for the learning that is taking place within the classrooms. With this school initiative, my students perform brain-breaks and movement activities within the classroom as a whole group activity.
My students have decided that they want to create fitness small groups within our classroom and challenge the other small groups to becoming fit with our bodies and minds!
They will use the Fire tablets to set goals and then utilize the online site known as GoNoodle to perform their fitness activities within their small groups. At the end of each week as a whole group, we will graph the amount of fitness/movement time performed by each small group of students to see who has met or exceeded their fitness goals!
