My students are from an inner-city in Pennsylvania. They are third-graders who live in a very culturally diverse community. Each year I have students with a wide range of academic, behavioral, and social skills. To develop a strong sense of classroom community, my students and I meet together frequently, so that they learn about each other. They learn how many similarities they have with students who seem so different from themselves. They also learn to appreciate their differences. My students enjoy working with each other.
