Our school strives to make a difference in our students' lives by teaching them to be global citizens. We have 468 students who come from a variety of neighborhoods in Seattle. To prepare students to be global citizens, every kindergarten through 5th grade students learn a second language - either Spanish or Japanese. In addition, global issues are infused into classroom content. For example, when second graders learn about fairy tales, students read fairy tales from all around the world. In as many ways possible, students are exposed to different cultures and perspectives.
