I have worked in this school for 7 years now. As I've grown as a teacher, I have seen tremendous growth in my students. About 5 years ago, I began allowing students the freedom of choice in where they sit while working. I have beach chairs, towels, and bean bag chairs in my room. Some students remain at their tables to work, while others prefer to lay on a towel or get cozy in a beach chair. The quality of work being submitted has improved as students have been able to be more comfortable in the class room. Comfort and safety is at the top of the list when making an inviting class room.
