My students are socioeconomically disadvantaged and rarely experience technology outside of our classroom. All of my students receive free lunch and in some cases we have to raise money to offset field trips. Most of the students I teach are ESOL, DES and regular ED students who struggle with the basic kindergarten knowledge. In the last few years I realized how the use of technology engages my students. Whenever I bring out a little technology their eyes open wide with interest and excitement. This year I have some students who struggle with paying attention for more than 10 minutes. Their attention span is so short that a lot of times I have to reteach the same concept to them in a smaller group setting. I realized that using the technology with these students in a smaller setting they are able to focus more and for a longer period of time.
