My school is beautifully diversified and outstanding. The students range from low income to middle class. We have been recognized as one of the top high schools in our state and recently won an award for having high success in an urban school district. My art students are talented and love to experiment with new media and techniques. They enjoy learning about contemporary techniques using innovative materials. Our art program is highly supported by our school, but funding is difficult and is spread thinly between 3 art teachers and over 300 students within our department. We are good at recycling and engineering our own materials to match ones currently on the market. I love to collect odd materials to use as project materials for my students. We also never turn down a donation!
