My students have a very BIG goal this year! Our BIG goal is to grow 1.5+ years in both reading and math. It is a large task that I know my students can achieve with their endless curiosity and determination. However, with such an enormous endeavor, my students could benefit from gaining access to other resources outside our school building through the use of technology. With many ability levels and interests all in the same classroom, tablets would allow my students the ability to access leveled, diverse texts that interest them and spark their love of reading. Students could listen to audiobooks with the tablets and headphones, while others access chapter books not readily available in our classroom library. These tablets will also help my students master grade-level mathematical skills and content through various educational programs and interventions that can be accessed through free educational programing. The charging stations will allow me to make sure our tablets are charged and ready for use each and every day.
Any little bit of technology can go a long way for young minds. With our society advancing into the technological world it has become, my students deserve the opportunity to build their educational skills through as many avenues as possible. It is my hope that these tablets, headphones, charging stations, protective cases, and the warranties (to keep these products in great condition) will allow my students to utilize every second of our day and to grow their brains to their fullest potential in third grade.
