I have 19 kindergarten kids who are so proud of their learning! They are amazed at their ability to read and write this year, and are working so hard every day. I teach an all-day, every-day kindergarten class. We work hard! My school is a Title-1 school with a high poverty population. Many of my students receive free breakfast and lunch, and are in transitional living arrangements. They are hard working kids who are proud of their classroom and their accomplishments.
Many young learners learn best by visual, hands-on activities. A large easel with materials for them to see and room for them to have many supplies will satisfy these needs for them. Kids need to be able to hear instruction while looking at examples, and learn best when they can do both of these and then have an example or material to touch can manipulate themselves. A large interactive teaching center will appeal to multiple learning styles.
