My days are busy helping students with speech and language impairments in a bustling elementary school of almost 800 students. My large caseload of 50 students consists of students who demonstrate a range of varying needs and abilities. In other words, they keep me on my toes looking for engaging activities to practice their specific skills. Some days I work with a shy preschool student who struggles with a severe sound disorder. Some days I teach a fourth grader strategies to overcome her stuttering. Some days I help a group of second graders develop listening skills necessary for them to follow directions in the classroom. And everyday I try my best to develop and implement lesson plans which are challenging yet motivating to each one of my students.
