I am a rocket scientist. Well, not exactly. I teach students with dyslexia to read, write, and to dream big. This year, I will be focusing on kindergarten and first grade students struggling to read. I'm pretty sure it's a lot like rocket science.
I can't begin to describe the pure joy and excitement that I feel seeing the smiles on their faces when they finally grasp a concept that they have worked so hard to learn. Like most teachers, I spend countless hours creating engaging learning activities to get my students exciting about learning. Most of all, I want to help my students develop a strong sense of self.
There is no doubt in my mind that teaching is my true calling.
