The selected books will not only enhance our classroom library but will be a tool for students to find their voices through others' experiences. While learning to write memoirs of their own, students will also be able to read different experiences and journeys. In finding their voices they will see that memoirs and memories can be told through poetry, lyric, essay, and narrative. They will have opportunities to read in small groups and/or partnerships. They will get to share and discuss different authors' crafts. The variety and number of books will also allow them to take books home and read, as well as reading together in class. They will get to recommend their favorites and read multiple books. Students will be able to build a love for the amazing genre of Memoir!

About my class
