Students can take charge of their learning by making seating choices that work best for them. During interventions and testing times, they choose a type of seat in the classroom that make them comfortable and ready to learn. Currently my students are using the few stools I have along with ordinary chairs. It is upsetting to them if I have more students than stools or another group working in my room is using the stools. I want to ensure my students are comfortable and in the best learning position for them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting in a regular chair.
The lucky students that get one of the stools are more engaged and less disruptive during interventions.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The flex space wobble cushions can be placed on the floor or on a chair but will still allow some movement. The flex space bouncy ball seats allow students to move and balance—reducing restlessness and improving focus while they learn! These will be extremely beneficial for students that just need to get the wiggles out. The comfy floor seats will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
I have seen how moving while learning can positively affect my struggling students work and demeanor. I am hoping to get enough seats and a larger variety so the students are not disappointed if they do not get one of the flexible seats.
