My kindergarten students are sweet, hard working children who are eager to learn. I teach at an urban school where all of my students are eligible for free lunch and most live in poverty. Many of them start kindergarten without ever having been in school and they do not have the experiences that many children do. Many of them come to school not knowing how to hold a pencil or a book. Even though they don't come to me with these experiences, they develop a strong love of learning and are excited to try new things and materials. I want to create a classroom that provides them with the best resources to maximize their learning and give them the best kindergarten experience possible.
