I am a 2nd grade teacher. We are located in Western Pennsylvania right outside of Pittsburgh. My students come from a low socio-economic community. To some, school becomes their escape and safe place away from their daily lives. My students are eager to learn new things that they are not exposed to outside the school doors. Many students do not get the chance to visit local landmarks. I want to give each of my students the opportunity to see the world through virtual field trips and social media. The students in my district learn in many different ways, and are each learning at different academic levels. You will see these students engaged in activities such as small group labs, learning centers, teacher guided instruction, as well as individual practice to meet the academic needs of each student.
