My students live in the inner city of Milwaukee, WI. A majority of them are at or below the poverty level. My students are hungry for knowledge and new experiences. They are sweet and loving and face the many challenges poverty brings. They are a diverse group of inspiring souls. They are eager to participate and feel useful in their community. I want to provide them with the opportunity to engage with others with deep respect and gratitude. This is a core element in the Montessori curriculum. Teach the children respect for others and a love for learning and the world could change. I believe I am in the perfect place to make that happen.
