My students are talented and hard working kids who happen to come from low income neighborhoods. They come alive when they read and explore human rights issues. Our school, unfortunately, can't afford a classroom set of books for the kids, but I know reading Maus and Escape From Camp 14 would be an excellent experience for the kids.
