Within our classroom community, we have a very diverse group of kiddos. All students have the determination to learn and grow, but we have a large number of students who are facing some challenging life circumstances (absent parents, relocating often, immigration, etc.) As a group, we work hard to support each other in our learning and create a positive/safe atmosphere for all families. Our school takes pride in creating a positive atmosphere for all students, parents and siblings. We have activities throughout the school year to honor perseverance and respect (assemblies, classroom celebrations, etc.) We can't always determine where we come from, but we can change where we are going. My students realize the power of this idea, and are genuinely appreciative of the opportunities they are given!
