My project will provide our Special Education students the opportunity to learn and experience the positive uses of technology now, in order to support them in their future. HP Chromebooks will allow our students to be active participants in their learning environment and guide their planning for the future. Students will have the ability to practice technology skills essential for their daily learning in high school and their post-secondary planning activities. This will increase their ability to make informed decisions regarding academic and transitional goals. Students will be able to practice needed 21st Century skills such as collaboration, digital literacy, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Students will be able to access technology daily, allowing them to progress at their own pace, regardless of their individual challenges. With teacher support, students will benefit from utilizing computer programs such as Google Classroom, Google Docs, Khan Academy, Snap and Read, Co-Writer, Membean, College Board, Naviance and many more. This project will positively impact our Special Education students and empower them for their future.
