I love my school. My school is an amazing neighborhood school. It is a small enough school that we get to know all of the children regardless of their grade level. Our school motto is "they are all of our children". Even though we are a neighborhood school, we have a large population of students who are bused in from all over the city. We have a very diverse group of students, with a large number of students who qualify for free/reduced lunches. 36% of my class is African American, 11% are Hispanic, 11% are bi-racial, and 42% are Caucasian. I have 9 girls and 10 boys in my classroom. We have been working toward closing the achievement gap between our African American students and our Caucasian students. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to keep my students engaged and excited about learning. My class is amazing...they are smart, funny, and eager to learn everyday.
