A calm down corner is a need in our classroom. My students are learning to understand their emotions and find ways to regulate them. These materials will support students in having a comfy place in the classroom when they need to calm their bodies. The canopy will help to define the area for students and the chair will give them a place to calmdown. They will have access to books that discuss their emotions, fidget tools to help them calm, and posters that guide them through the process. With these tools in one place, students will feel comfortable in knowing they can feel their emotions and have a way to self-regulate in order to return to learning.
