I teach at an inner city school in Pittsburgh. I teach sixth grade Science to students that come from low-income housing. The school is well managed but does not have the resources readily available to set the students up for success regarding 21st century skills. The school district also struggles with supplying teachers with the tools necessary to give the students the science experience that they deserve. Science is one of the major keys to the success of our country, planet, and everyday lives. I want the students to not only come into my room and be the best learners that they can be, but also to remember their classroom experience for the rest of their lives.
