My Kindergarteners are eager to be fluent readers and mathematicians. Due to the socioeconomic backgrounds of the students in my class most students do not have access to a computer, let alone a tablet. I teach in a Bring Your Own Device district and my students miss out on many learning activities solely because they do not have the money to buy their own tablets. The majority of my students are dual language learners. We are in a Pre-K - 5th grade public school building where over 96% of our families are economically needy and less than 15% of the families speak English at home. Although my students have many obstacles in their way they are eager to learn and be successful in school.
