At this point my students need to come to my kidney table in groups of 1 or 2 to practice their next skill due to limitations on how we can safely social distance. As you can imagine, it takes some time for me to get to all students. They just came from a Hybrid model where I was able to give them more support and attention, which I feel they really need in today's situation. Using this rolling cart with the white board and having the potential for pocket chart games and activities, I will be able to move around the room, where I have larger groups of students who are working on the same or similar skills.
We also have several students who come into our classroom using an inclusion model from a developmental kindergarten program. They are struggling to transfer text from the white board in the front of the classroom. This easel will also help support the paraeducator as she is supporting 5 students who have been delayed in getting to come into their General Education classroom due to Covid and the stipulations on mixing cohorts. Having a scaffolded station for them to focus on will really support them in helping them become ready to be independent in first grade and more confident learners that are able to be successful.
