Many of the students I have in my classroom read below grade level. By having these leveled readers in my classroom, students will be able to choose a book that is "just right" for their reading abilities. They will be able to practice comprehension, fluency, and accuracy without becoming frustrated or defeated. These books will allow for my students to grow as readers and meet grade level expectations. Through these leveled readers, my students will be able to love reading and feel successful. If my students feel successful then they will be able to fall in love with reading even more. I believe these leveled readers will allow them to practice independence during guided reading time because they will be able to comprehend the books they are reading. They will be engaged throughout independent reading time, and they will begin to develop a love for books.
