In order to help my low students achieve reading success and instill a lifelong love of reading, I am developing a school-wide reading incentive program through the use of Scholastic Reading Counts. This program is developed within my school to create a school-wide focus on building a love of reading. Students are recognized for reading achievements in this program throughout the academic year.
Let's face it! Technology and reading are tied and providing lower income students the opportunity to read in a variety of ways such as the use of Fire Tablets creates more passion for reading, especially with tween students! Through the use of this funding, students will get more access to more books and more opportunities to read like "real people" in the "real world!"
