I believe that giving students academic choices helps them take ownership of their learning. Incorporating academic choice has helped me throw conventional education out the window. So why not take it a step further and allow them to choose where they learn best?
Choosing where they will sit, will help my students make responsible choices for their best educational interests. I would like to incorporate seating options, such as yoga mats, exercise disks and physioballs, as well as standing options for those movers and shakers in my class. I think this will help them become more engaged in their learning and benefit them, both academically and socially.
