My students are a diverse group of learners with diverse needs. The items on this list will help me provide them with the things they need to grow as learners. My classroom is located in a temporary building and has a lot of old bookshelves and teaching supplies. I have asked for things that will help me individualize instruction and provide a variety of opportunities within the classroom. A variety of seating such as stools and yoga balls give my students options to choose where they work best. I am also asking for a new bookshelf, display book stand and a teaching easel. These items will add functionality to my room. Every space in the room needs to have purpose and be utilized by my students. Students need to be able to work collaboratively as well as individually to develop their creativity and thinking. I hope to provide a classroom that meets these needs. I believe that even though 75% of my students are low-income their classroom should not reflect that! My students deserve new things and a beautiful environment in which to spend their day!
