I am moving to a new classroom this year from a room with walls of built in bookshelves to a room with no shelving which is why I am asking for the book bins and shelves. This will be critical to organizing my classroom library which is a central part of our classroom. I am also asking for a couple of special materials for presenting my lessons. Those include an easel and a pocket chart holder. I would use these tools especially in literacy for teaching my lessons. The extra storage in the easel will help me have the materials for my lessons close by. The pocket chart is a handy place to display vocabulary and learning targets for the kids. It's something I wished I had all last year in my classroom.
The storage bins and shelves would make our classroom library clean, organized and accessible to all my students. The pocket chart holder and the easel will help my students' learning greatly. This would allow my students to receive instruction in different places in the classroom and in different ways to benefit all learning styles of my students. Also, the pocket charts will allow me to display information like vocabulary and learning targets so that my students can easily see and access that information. The rug would be really helpful to have in my classroom because it would give us a bigger meeting area for the students to sit. Last year I had a smaller rug and not all my students fit on it. I would like a bigger space to teach lessons so that my students can learn comfortably.
