As a Social Studies/Civics teacher, I continually emphasize current events. I believe it is so important for students to keep current on the news and events. This material would allow them easy access and the ability to bring it home to their families. I am requesting some copies of current event magazines that are geared toward the middle school level. These are amazing resources. They provide insightful articles and thought provoking questions that can help students think about the world we live in. I love the fact that students can bring these magazines home to hopefully generate some thought provoking discussions with their families. We also need more art supplies such as poster board, markers, and colored pencils since many do not have their own.
