Donated pH meters will help students understand the chemical structure of acids and bases as a function of hydrogen concentration while gaining experience using appropriate science technology. The meters will be utilized by high school students in a variety of chemistry courses, from inclusion settings to college level AP inquiry.
Investigations using donated pH meters will span levels from general chemistry to AP chemistry. They will be used to identify acids/base character, develop titration curves, differentiate between mono and polyprotic reactions, and evaluate buffer function. Further, the pH meters will help explore topics from environmental impacts to quantitative analysis and much more.
