Let us be honest. Traditional classrooms are not working. What gives? Could it be students are having trouble sitting in a seat for 6 hours a day? Now imagine students who have a disability on top of this learning environment. Early research has shown that adaptive seating (such as using wobble stools) has increased progress in academics and behavior by about 70%. With my students having learning disabilities, ADHD/ADD, Autism, etc., they can no longer afford just having one year's growth. I need to tap into their strengths, and adaptive seating is one tool that can help me get there.
